We attended an elk bugling event at the Castle one evening with another couple. The presenter was not very interesting and then we didn't even see or hear any elk. We really didn't learn anything... Would not recommend that particular event!

Went with our cmc hiking group and was pleasantly surprised!!!The family history of this castle/mansion is unbelievable..Quite an interesting part of our Denver area history..beautiful grounds and exceptionally well maintained..The tour guide ladies were exceptional ( and all volunteer)..A special place with unbelievable views!!Well worth the trip and would highly recommend!!

LOVE this place! We sat on the terrace for lunch and it was excellent. Catered and a semibuffet but delicious. And we got a minitour afterward-very fun and interesting.

My garden club visited Cherokee Castle for a tour and lunch. Both were amazing. The castle's history is intriguing and the classic artwork is unbelievable, with such treats as originals architectural drawings from Sir Christopher Wren.. The food was catered and was delicious. Our guide was fantastic, quite knowledgeable and excited about her task. The views are also wonderful.

We came back from a lecture on northern European gardens held in the main area of the castle last night, feeling like we had been to another country in a little vacation. The castle has such a charming warm atmosphere. I have previously taken the tour of the entire castle and enjoyed the history and tour. There are a lot of upcoming events that I'm considering. We want to do a summer event because the view from there is fantastic during the day and night also. It is one of the must see places when visiting the Denver area. It only takes about 1/2 hour from the downtown area via I-25.

We enjoyed the formal English tea before the castle tour. There were 4 interesting teas to choose from. There was a 3-tiered tray of finger sandwiches including open faced shrimp, a beef and cheese, and a chicken rollup with mango. The sweets included a mini-scone, cream puffs and other delicacies. While the original setting of food seems small, they brought around trays so that you really could have unlimited quantities of the tea and food. The high ceilinged grand room where the tea is served is quite imposing. The docents who gave the tour were very knowledgeable and eager to share facts about the castle and its former owner. Some of the artwork is very good quality. Be prepared to go up very steep stairs to get to the wonderful view from the rooftop. Be aware that you cannot enter the castle prior to the tea time so don't arrive too early and that it takes a while to get from the entrance off of the road (not very clearly marked) to the castle building itself.

We visited Cherokee Castle out of interest in local history. I am not sure this would be a "destination" event, but my wife and I enjoyed the oral history presented during the tour of the "castle." Cherokee Castle shows how wealth was exercised in a bygone era. You really get a sense of life at that time. The Vista view of a preserved valley from the outdoor balcony is incredible - as is the art collection of religious Iconography that was collected by the original owners.

For the price, I think there are better teas. For the curiosity factor, the estate and castle tour was fabulous. So many fun architectural features and historical Colorado stories. All of the docents there were fun and knowledgeable. The grand fireplace in the main room of the castle was amazing and not like any I had observed before. We got there at the end of our tea seating time and got stuck in an off-beat room which took away from the tea party ambiance. After the tea we were guided on a Cherokee Castle tour which was crowded but epic and so worthwhile.This castle also has stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains such as Devil's Thumb. This place gives you a glimpse of a cattle ranch from early 1900 through the 1950s and is an important part of Colorado History. This castle is unique structure constructed from local Rhyolite quarries and should not be missed. Find a different way to visit Cherokee Castle such as a concert or nature walk and skip the $49/per person tea.

My wife and I moved to Castle Rock from KS in May of this year. Our realtor had suggested we put The Castle on our list of places to visit. A couple of weeks ago we took friends visiting from KS and had brunch at the Castle! The location offers great views and the volunteers did an excellent job explaining the history of the Castle and every room in it. The brunch itself was good, kinda pricey, but we were very impressed with the volunteers who make the Castle a must visit when in the Castle Rock, Castle Pines area!

I heard about this castle and wanted to see it for years. You can find out about its history, etc and see pictures of it using your internet browser.. It is near Castle Rock (not named after this castle), just about 10 miles drive off I-25, about an hour from downtown Denver or Colorado Springs.This impressive, yet warm castle, with spectacular views, expensive art, and antigue furniture provides a unique setting for the many performances, events, and very good dining offered. My wife and I attended a dinner and concert, preceeded by an introductory castle tour.. The cost was not cheap at $65 a person, but about normal or, I think, a good value, for dinner and the same level of entertainment in a first class setting.. The Cherokee Castle might be considered equal to eating in the Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs, but I do not think even the Broadmoor Penrose Room or Brown Palace, as wonderful as they are, provide such splendid feelings.

I've done tea here, which was lovely (and probably better than the Brown Palace tea) and they have loads of concerts and nature walks, etc.

What a beautiful setting, magnificent and breathtaking views!!! The foundation for the preservation of the land has opened the castle up for tours, which was very interesting and informative! Good job Bobbi! As for high tea, Eat before you go!!! There is so little food for the $45 fee and lukewarm tea, it's embarrassing! Not to mention Policewoman Debbie is watching how many cucumber sandwiches you take! Astounding!! Will not be back.

You need to make reservations for tours at the castle. When driving out to the castle, give yourself a little extra time because the driveway to the castle from the road is dirt and rough. The speed limit is posted at 15mph and you really shouldn't go much over that if you don't want to damage your car. Photos are not allowed inside the castle. Unfortunately, they didn't have a book of the castle when I was there for my tour. It would have been a nice souvenier of the tour. Children are not recommended to attend the tour and with good reason. There are lots of valuable items in the castle. There was a very well behaved little girl on the tour I was on. The dad did a very good job of keeping her happy and occupied during the 1 1/2 hour tour.Anyone interested in art and historic buildings will love this tour.
