Cutler Botanic Garden is a beautiful place for a wedding - don't get me wrong. Our ceremony was beautiful held this past September at 4:30 pm - just as the sun was going down. We were nestled between the trees of the open field area. But that is all this place has going for them. They are HORRIBLE to work with. We originally overlooked the ridiculously high price (they don't have someone who coordinates logistics on their end for the event and tell you its still a public place so you're literally paying just to hold your wedding on the grounds) since it was pretty and seemed like it'd be a simple ceremony site. My husband called the vendor just three days before our wedding to confirm where we wanted the chairs set up since they had not been in contact with us for an entire year (we planned our wedding from across the country). They then, three days before our wedding, said they tried calling us once but our contract no longer included chairs. So they changed our contract (illegal?) and didn't even tell us. So still paying an arm and a leg, we had to get chairs rented and delivered to the grounds on our own. The day of our wedding, I called our vendor again because the woman had informed us that there was a place for me and the girls to hide out before the ceremony so no one could see us. Awesome! Not. They told me (as I'm sitting in the limo watching people walk to the ceremony) that they're not sure what I want to do because they were closing their building at 4:30. (The ceremony was at 4:30, so what's the problem?) So we got to sit in the limo until we walked out - multiple people seeing me beforehand. Although it was an amazing and beautiful ceremony, I would NOT recommend this location to anyone looking for somewhere to hold their wedding ceremony.
Every time we come to Binghamton we make a trip to Cutler Garden. It's very well done and a nice walk. Love to see how they change it up with the seasons.
Its an average bontanic garden. Don't get me wrong its very pretty, but if you've been to other gardens like Busch gardens, you will be disappointed.
This is a very nice, small garden in Binghamton, New York. All the plants and flowers are very well labeled. Herb garden is nice. There is no charge for this attraction. Glad we stopped on the way to Endicott, New York. A little hard to find on Front Street. Went by it twice before we found it.
You will marvel at all the different plantings, and they are labeled so you can know their names. Beautiful place for a wedding, inside the gazebo!
We visited in October right before everything was cut and put to bed for winter. The dedicated volunteers here (we aren't among them but perhaps in future) have created a varied, stimulating, and gorgeous couple of acres here to stroll around. It's meticulously maintained, changes throughout the growing season, and is a great source of ideas for our own garden. It isn't the NY Botanical Gardens, but it's right here and it's very professionally maintained. Bravo!
This is a small, peaceful oasis of blossoms, trees, grass and gardens. There is no cost to stroll through, and you can see everything from roses to pumpkins growing. Pick a nice sunny day to stop in and be greeted by hundreds of colorful blooms. The small size makes it an ideal add-on when already in the area.
My granddaughter and their whole limo full of kids stopped here for pre-prom pics. There are roses, a gazebo, as well as many other plants to pose beside. It's nice for proms, graduations, weddings, etc.
Part of the cooperative extension (Cornell?) the garden's have a lot of local plants both annual and perinnal.
