This is a superb little park. There are no commercial buildings here. There is a long, level dirt path that walks aside the river for 5 miles or more, connecting with Rockland Lake and going all the way north to Havertstraw if you like. The scenery is great, and the cliffs of the northern palisades are spectacular. There are picnic tables here. Many people fish and cook out along the path. People jog, walk dogs, ride bikes, and sit and stare into space. It's also very secure--an excellent place to hike solo and feel ok about it.

This is a nice spot to go for a long walk on the river on a paved trail. They also have other non paved more difficult trails in the park. It has a small beach area. It has a great view and the paved trail is nice and easy so anyone can handle it. You can do the rougher steeper hook mountain trail which really has an incredible view. Ask the ranger for directions to the trail at the parking area. Empire pass is accepted here as well.

Small and quiet area - except on weekends. Level walking path and steeper terrain to hike to the top of Hook Mt. for a fabulous view 300' above the Hudson. First visit I was surprised it was a state park. Restroom facilities, picnic tables. Many families enjoy this "beach" along the river. One can find solitude during the week and off season.

great location beautiful scenery and nice little area for a bbq or picnic .. nice fishing place. great in the summer and it is right on the river. You cannot put a price tag on the view

Very nice path right along the Hudson River. Very peaceful. Beautiful views of the Hudson and of the cliffs above. There are some paths that snake off the main trail, and there's a path that connects to Rockland Lake State Park (which is also very nice). No fee for parking out of season.

Magnificent views of the Hudson! Peaceful, quiet walk or ride on a safe path. A wonderful outdoor experience!

Nice views on walking/bike path. The path went bout 2 miles one way. I don't know if it continued on the other side. The attendee who took our $6 parking fee should be fired. Was absolutely clueless as to any info on park and gave us a park map with food stains on it! If you like such types of attractions and happen to be in the area it's worth a stop, unless there is more to it than we were aware of.

Despite it's name, Nyack Beach State Park does not have a beach where you can swim but don't let that keep you from visiting this beautiful spot on the banks of the beautiful Hudson River. The park can be entered from the northern end of N. Broadway in Upper Nyack, NY, about a 35 minute drive north of the George Washington Bridge. There is a parking area and picnic tables at river's edge. There is also a park building with public restrooms. Just north of the parking area there is the start of a great path along the edge of the river that is used by walkers, bikers, runners, dog walkers, etc. There are beautiful views all along this path. The park is a few miles north of the Tappanzee Bridge so there also great views looking south to that bridge and the construction of the new replacement bridge. One can walk all the way north along the path to Haverstraw, NY, about 9 miles north. Parking is $6. Bikers and walkers free.

beautiful park, great trail for walking or cycling, leads to rockland lake. The only problem with it lately is that rude, obnoxious dog owners allow their pets off the leash (not legal) and then yell at you when you try to scare the dogs away after they jump towards you!

My family has been coming here for years. It is a great place to visit and walk along the trails that run parallel to the Hudson River. They have done a great job repairing the area after super storm Sandy last year. We really enjoy Sunday mornings walks on the trails

Wonderful riverside walks, awesome cliffs and rock faces above you and a sense of timeless evolving nature. No matter how many cars are in the parking lot you can feel alone and if you climb the gentle upward paths you can get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful cliffs and views.

One of the treasures of Nyack, and just recently restored after the damage from "Sandy". Please be aware that it's a carry-in, carry-out park. Don't leave your trash or dog droppings behind. Yes, it's dog-friendly...but, keep 'em on a leash. Great place to walk or ride a bike along the Hudson!

This is a great place for a riverside stroll. You can choose a gentle path or hike up towards the Palisades cliffs. Walk for a quarter mile or for longer. Nice benches to have your picnic lunch.

Beautiful and relaxing views of the Hudson River... Although you must pay for parking (in season) it is worth a few bucks to commune with nature. I cannot comment about the swimming or the picnic areas.

Crowded, Disorganized. Overall it's OK. Food for purchase, not many shady spot.I would prefer to go early before the bigger crowds get in.
