We made reservations at Take Flight to do something different. We've done the cruises, kayaking, beach, etc, and wanted to do something out of our comfort zone.TF was a very good choice. We did the Adventure Zip tour. Mom, Dad, 16yo girl, and 13yo boy. This place is not for the faint of heart. We started out climbing a telephone pole to a platform 38 feet off the ground. The entire zip line tour takes place in the trees, and you don't touch ground until 2 hours after you start. The staff is excellent, and very safety conscious. If it's running, I highly recommend the swing. It's insane!I would do this again, in a heartbeat.

great time with my 14yo boys…scary enough to get the heart beating especially starting! We only did the rope course and will be going back to do the zip line course. Staff was great, helpful and safety aware. Was great to see that part of it!

Thought we had a rain out day (was misty raining) but decided on a whim to try this course out. We have a 6 yr old girl and 9 yo boy so were not sure how this would go. The result? We had an awesome time...Phil the enchanter (main guide) was a lot of fun and responsible, as was the entire staff, who were with us throughout the course, and helped us along if we hit a roadblock. Highly recommend this place for a chunk of physical fun with a group of great people. If you go remember socks and sneakers, but if you forget they rent shoes out like a bowling alley, and yes the shoes are super white and awesome! You need to be 48 inches tall and 50 lbs to get on the course. We didn't do the zip line tour his time but definitely plan to go back again and do the course again and try out the zip line.....

We have been coming to nearby Ogunquit for several years and just lucked into finding this place while looking for lobster roll. It is a super ropes course with challenging climbs and slides. Highly recommended for a couple hours worth of physical fun. They are very safety conscious anvery helpful and provide all necessary safety equipment and instruction

My 8- and 10-yr-olds had an amazing experience at Take Flight. They only did the rope course (there is a zip line, too) but it was fun and a great workout. It was warm and there is no shade but there are a couple of water stations on the course to stay hydrated. Participants get to choose their own course and only do the elements and levels they're comfortable with. Preparation was impressive and safety is obviously their #1 priority. My kids felt safe the entire time (and I never feared for their safety from the ground either!). I especially appreciated that instead of doing everything for my kids, the 'flight crew' coached them through it. Tons of encouragement and positive feedback for my kids throughout the entire course as well. All employees were very kind and professional and treated my kids as capable and equal. Because neither of them could reach the 7' requirement to go alone, we had to 'rent a buddy'. In hindsight I'm glad they went with someone who was experienced on the course and I'd actually recommend it for your first time. My kids' buddy was Chase and he was fantabulous (my 8-yr-old's word)! Jim, the manager, was equally wonderful. Very highly recommend this experience. We will definitely be back!!

Great challenge for the family. I went with my 6 yr old daughter and 12 yr old son. The staff was great and safety is a number one focus. We actually were ready to start out on July 2nd when we heard thunder and they brought us off the course immediately. We went back the next day and it was great. The staff were encouraging and helped the kids out when they needed it.I would highly recommend trying this out. We will again!

Overall a very good experience: staff were friendly and skilled, equipment was sturdy, climbing elements were varied and enjoyable, price was reasonable (they give discounts for kids which many places do not). This course was different than the two others I've done in that it was all climbing elements; I ilke the ones that mix climbing and zip lines more. Other differences include that your small group is required to stay together. I sort of liked this, in that it kept the course less crowded. For my son who wanted to go faster than the rest of us, however, it was pure misery - you gauge your group! Finally the course is in the full, hot sun. I like the courses that are in the shade better.

Hello all!We were there last summer and my daughter and I did the course. It was a lot of fun, especially if you like climbing! Great exercise and the staff were very friendly and professional. I liked that safety was a number one priority! Check it out if you are in Kittery! Highly recommend! Very good pricing for what you get.. 2hrs of fun for something like $50 each.Terry

We opted to try Take Flight, rather than a second trip to Monkey Trunks. Kids absolutely loved this course. Much more challenging than Monkey Trunks with a higher climb level. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good physical challenge. The kids had to work with each other on some of the obstacles and really enjoyed it.

My son and I tried it out today. My son ,8, was not as excited as I was but willing to try. Once we got to third area my son just wanted down. The staff was amazing in helping him complete the next few obstacles. Always encouraging and willing to help. I am excited to go back and try it again! Definitely something everyone should do!

Really wonderful, challenging high ropes course. I took campers there as a counselor, and it was certainly a good team building experience. The kids had a great time, even though the day we went it was over 100 degrees. The staff was delightful and helpful, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

first off, this is not for the faint of heart. But it was an incredible way to spend an afternoon with the family when you are looking for something different on the coast. All four of us ventured into the course; my husband and myself, my 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son. You have to go in groups of 2 or 3, but if you don't want to go with your child you can hire a "buddy" for $20 to do it for you. All college age kids who were very helpful and encouraging, while you sit in the shade and watch. There is a 15-30 min overview of the course that you learn how to clip on the lines, etc. After that, they tag you and let you go for 2+ hours on the course. My daughter made it about 45 minutes and completed most of the first level (15 feet up). I did the second level with my son and then I went to hang with my daughter while my son and husband did level 3, about 45 feet up in the air. They basically used every minute. The price is only $25 for kids under 12, completely worth it. Other competitors are at $49 for everyone over 48".There are bathrooms on site (none at local competitors) which was the clincher for me. There is an indoor waiting area with comfortable couches and a TV if you want to sit indoors.Food on site, subs and burgers, etc. Icees. Great after working out for a few hours. You have to wear sneakers, and wear something that you are comfortable in, IE workout clothes or something you don't mind being covered in sweat (if you are an adult at least!).Bring sunscreen, no shade anywhere on the course, and you will be hot. They actually provide water on the course for free for you, which is amazing. And to anyone who is worried about safety: We ended up speaking to a guy who worked there for a while due to a mutual friend. He told us how they have to be there 2 hours prior to opening to go over every inch of the course, every single day. They are extremely safe. I never felt uncomfortable and I am not a small woman!!Definitely take your kids!!

I took 4 kids ages 10-13 for a morning of ropes climbing. The staff was terrific and very professional. It seemed like they really put safety first. The kids had lots of fun and want to go (we will). The course even had water misters to keep everyone cool.

We saw the facility while driving by on Coastal Hwy 1 and we did a double-take of "what is THAT?!" On our way back that evening, we pulled in to get a closer view even though they were closed. Decision made: the next morning we were back and ready for a new kind of adventure! Our family of 4 (2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 kid) signed up for the obstacle challenge course and had an amazing time despite the unrelenting heat. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful and put a great emphasis on safety both on the ground in the 'pre-flight' training and up on the course. The staff were even able to help stranded customers who had difficulty getting past a particular element. Things to know before you go: * Wear closed-toe shoes (but they have tennis shoes to rent for $5 if you are not wearing appropriate footwear). I was wearing Toms, and while they said they were able to be worn on the course, I regretted it as my foot would sometimes come out of the shoe when caught in the ropes and the soles were thin when walking on the cables.* No keys, cell phones, cameras, or purses on the course for safety, but sunglasses are OK. They will keep your items safe behind the counter. A staff member does take photographs and posts them on their website for purchase ($4.95 and up)-- a nice offering, especially since you can look over the photos on your own time and not have to make a decision at the point-of-sale. * Consider making a reservation so you know that you can get right on the course if they get busy. * Complimentary water is available on the ground and at each level of the challenge course; and bottled beverages and ice cream bars are for sale in the building. A little food stand is also on-site.
