I thought this would be a so so experience, I was very wrong. It is really something to see. It is amazing how you are first seen a piece of metal, then you go through each stage of the car being made. Look over head and you will see car frames, doors, ect and then it all comes into place to build a car. Not one fraction of an inch is wasted in this building. You are taken on a tram through the building so no walking! It really is spectacular!

I am a huge SciFi fan, and I am also an engineer. I've heard a lot about the TPS and have seen videos and ready stories and case studies about Toyota manufacturing... but I was blow away. This facility is something out of a the greatest SciFi minds of history. There are more robots here in the space of a house than I have seen in my entire life.Your vehicle is in traffic, with dozens of other robot vehicles. Overhead robot cranes are moving tons of sheet metal; to your sides robots are manipulating, welding, spraying, stitching, and hundreds of other operations, while the workers wear and use robotic arms and tools to augment their abilities and speed up their processes. And you look up to see if you can spot the end of the facility... you can't. It just goes on and on.Back to reality: This is a must do for anyone. The guides are knowledgeable, witty, and enthusiastic. Its an easy tour totally in a tram. It can feel lengthy and you should plan several hours. No cameras, phones, ect.

This is my second visit to the Toyota Georgetown site. I visited with my two teenage grandchildren prior to this visit with my wife. The tour is very informative and impressive with a new car coming off the line every minute or less. The day we were there the goal was to produce 2000 cars a day. The manufacturing line consists of Camry, Avalon and Venzas intermixed by color, options, hybrid and standard vehicles. You will experience the manufacturing process from the receipt of a roll of steel to the newly assembled car coming off the line. You ride on a tram with a tour guide who explains the manufacturing process as you roll past the various assembly areas. Admission is free but call to make reservations. My only regret is that I wish more time was allowed at each station to take a longer look at the process. I highly recommend this location as a stop when you are in the area. Tours are about an hour long.

The tour is good, hands down, just what you'd expect from a company with this standing and reputation. What we didn't expect was to be on the tour with so many people who were wheelchair bound or who used a walker. It was wonderful to see how the Toyota tour staff handled everyone with limited mobility, helping them onto the tour trolley and making sure they were comfortable and safe. It was heartwarming and they won our admiration. Hope more limited mobility people will check it out!

The tour of the Toyota plant is something that everyone should experience. From beginning to end, this 45-minute tour shows you how America's number 1 selling car is made. You ride in a tram, with a tour director explaining the building process in your individual headsets. I am an employee here and take great pride in my job. I always like to bring friends and family on this tour when they visit, and all have been amazed at how a car can go from a roll of steel to a finished car. And the best part of this tour...it's free!

To see how technology is integrated into the automobile industry is really something to see. And how Toyota takes care of their workers (daycare, 24 hour fitness center, etc) and how the cars are put together is quite a sight. Reservations are required. It takes an hour or so but worth it.

Went here for a tour together with some business partners, and WOW, the place is huge, and the whole history, the processes, the finished products everything is great. I will recommend this to everyone.

Yes, I know it's free, but it's a pain driving here and then finding out the tour is too full to fit in 2 more people. Plus, we drove in an RV pulling a car (we're between campgrounds). The guard didn't seem to know what to do with us. He asked us to park at the FAR end of a parking lot, but it was completely full without space for us. He had no suggestions except visit without an RV. So, no tour and no visit to the center.

Largest Toyota plant ouside Japdn and will become largest anywhere in 2015. The campus is huge and includes a seperate employee "benefits" area encompassing free daycare, classrooms and sports facilities. The factory tour was on a small train through most areas of the manufacturing with a well briefed guide.Unfortunately the supplied head-sets were not comfortable to wear but were essential in areas such as the stamping plant. We were ther at the time of change-over to the 2015 models so the plant was not operating at its normal capacity of 2,000 + vehicles per day. We were certainly inducted into "The Toyota Way".

Show up on time, Sit on a tram, and ride around the factory for an hour.It is a massive factory and the tram moves at the proper speed (they've been doing this for nearly 25 years). A great tour.

If you are staying in, staying near or passing through, this is a MUST see place! Totally amazing to see a car built from a roll of steal to it rolling off the production line! VERY Futuristic, you feel like you are in a scene of the Jetson's! Robots and humans working together, 13,000 acres! YES 13,000 acre campus produces on average 2,000 cars PER DAY! Second largest Toyota factory in the WORLD! Tour takes about 75 minutes and you really need reservations! Tour is FREE! Gotta leave your cameras and phones in your car though NO pictures or video taping allowed....

When you're visiting this area, be sure to make reservations for this tour! Riding the tram through major depts. not only allows visitors to become familiar with the manufacturing process but also the magnitude of the importance of safety AND integrity. My rating would've been 'excellent' had there been any opportunities for asking clarifying questions. (There's a plethora of information narrated by a guide, and, unfortunately, often times, ours spoke ever so rapidly.)

Toyota offers an excellent tour of their factory in Georgetown. The tour took about one and a half hours and provided an excellent view of the manufacturing process. Well worth seeing. To assure a seat on the tram, call ahead for reservations.

Get a first hand look at the Toyota manufacturing process from metal stamping and fabrication to drive off at the end of the line. The tour is interesting, educational and FREE. Allow about two hours and to be sure of a place on the tram, MAKE RESERVATIONS.
