What a wonderful course. The greens were super fast! Staff is beyond wonderful! The weather that day was a bit cold, but the course and the people were so great that we still had a wonderful time!

First, let me say write up front I am a golf snob. I get to play the best courses in the world. This course is fine and some interesting holes but this is at best rated 400-750 in my top golf courses in the world. So if you play, make sure your expectations are properly set. I played this with my wife and I think it is best played in the afternoon when you can see the sun setting west as you play out on the course. This is by far the easiest and least spectacular of the three courses at Greenbrier, and for better golfers I would recommend skipping and just play Old White over and over. Not even Greenbrier is that interesting.

My wife just started playing golf 3 years ago, and she loved it. No trouble in front of any of the greens.

Well maintained, beautiful scenery, and changes in layout and levels. The less expensive of all the courses at the Greenbrier resort plus free range balls.

Nice course - relatively easy & open. Greens were fast - but that made it fun. Gorgeous scenery and nice starter who clued us in.

Service was A+ and course was in great shape. Be sure to stock your cooler before you pull out in your cart, as the beverage service on the course is sparse comparatively. If you go after 3 pm, it is a great deal at $75 including rental clubs and there is ability to play at a more leisurely pace without backing up the regulars. If you are new, just play a best shot scramble and keep the fun moving. Some of the holes are challenging, but overall just a really gorgeous way to spend a few hours in the fresh air and amazing setting that will take your breath away with its beauty!

The golf course was just okay, not really up to the standards of the rest of the property. It is a nice layout, not too difficult, but it is not maintained anywhere near as well as my home courses. It's great to be out on the course for the beautiful mountain and nature views.

This course provided great fun in addition to the 2 other courses. All three of the courses provided great challenging action.

This course is so picturesque, but 7 of the back 9 holes are sooo loud due to highway traffic, shame, it detracts what was otherwise a nice experience.

I'm about a 25 handicap, so I decided to play the easiest of the 3 courses. The course itself was in great shape, and I had a great round. This course also looks to be the least crowded, and I zipped through in under 2.5 hours. The only problem was arrival and departure. Signage wasn't great and parking nearby was limited. I went to the bag drop and there was no one there, and even after parking my car and returning my bag was still there. I started to walk around the building and finally a guy in a cart drove up and took my bag and 2 others' with barely a word, until I asked where to check in. I think I just missed a sign to the #1 tee so I'll take my share of the blame for having trouble finding it. After finishing my round, I went to drive the cart out to my car and got partway on the only route I saw and there were signs that said club employees only, and then "no carts". I just dropped my cart where I had picked it up and walked my club out to the car, and no one was there to offer any kind of help. I don't really care that much, but it's not at all the service I'd expect for these prices. I give the course itself 5*, and the service 2*.

Well maintained, beautiful, and challenging course. Beautiful homes, mountains and streams running thru out.

This is the least challenging of the courses at The Greenbrier. It is sporty and fun. It can be played in under 4 hours. Lots of nice mountain scenery.

Course was in excellent condition, no GPS in carts

One of four offerings at the resort (Old White is the PGA tournament course) and the "Snead" course is available to members only. Originally a 9 hole course, redesigned to an 18 hole layout after the 1959 construction of the "bunker" plays to a Par 70, approx 6500 yards from the tips and will challenge the best from that distance without being over the top unfair. From a more modest set of tees, easily playable for the average resort guest. The 14th (Par 5) and 16th (430 yd Par 4) are the two most brutal holes on the course (although 17, now a long Par 4 instead of a former reachable Par 5 now makes a run at it) and require accuracy off the tee above all with OB on one side and water on the other. Otherwise, for the most part, what you see is what you get and there are a good mix of lengths and styles of holes. I played it for free off season (punched greens, walking free, cart approx $35) and a nice practice facility and PGA learning facility are also on the property. Overall, a great diversion, but if the Old White is open, you'll want to play that at least once, just for the ambiance. Full review available at www.tipsgolftips.com.
