food was great! influences of cajun cuisine without being standard fare. i had the baked chicken. it tasted like spinach and artichoke dip stuffed into two perfectly cooked chicken breasts. YUM! Rich for sure but the portion was perfect sized as to not be too much. hubby is CELIAC and had creole tuna which he said was delicious. not too spicy but had a little slow burn. but we love spicy so take that for what it's worth. great flavor though. had the shrimp cocktail with tons of horseradish which we love and you cannot beat the shrimp in LA! I had Oreo beignets for dessert. So rich- ate two and took the rest back to the hotel. the waiter was great. He went ou tof his way to find me a DIET PEPSI in the land of coke!! our glasses stayed full, food was priced well for the quality and portion, hostess could have been smarter and better trained for sure...I recommend NOT saying "do you want to eat here or in there?". Perhaps, "would you prefer dining room, patio or bar??" But I don't think $20 is unreasonable per plate, though and $8 for the shrimp cocktail seemed to be the normal price. I guess unless you are used to eating at chain restaurants where they fill a trough full of average overly salted food for $13 per person this was a typical small downtown restaurant prices and portions. Didn't think it was pretentious... had a guy singing that was good. They even listed the GF items at the bottom of the menu. So honestly for us, this was a little slice of heaven.

pretentious and overpriced. there is a large dining area inside, an outside area and many locals clustered around the bar area. service when we were there was negligent and downright rude. When we walked in a surly waiter told us we could eat "here" (indicating the bar) or "out there" (indicating the dining room). We chose "there" since the bar was dark and dank looking. Our waiter Luke seemed to be more interested in setting up for a party apparently than serving us, and was arguing loudly with another waiter about something the entire time we tried to enjoy a meal.Parking is about a block away. The Ahi Tuna salad was simply a piece of pre-fab ahi tuna (factory-coated in white sesame and chilled - not seared as promised). Nothing special. The steak my husband ordered came cold. Had to be microwaved and then it was overdone. We felt totally ripped off by the experience and baffled that it got recommendation from the tourist center in New Iberia. Would not return or recommend.

I found this restaurant to be more pomp and less spectacular. Parking is down the street with a walk on an uneven sidewalk on a busy main street. I was disappointed with the high prices in this cafe/bar. I was not impessed. It's not exciting. Please know, the food was good but the prices were high. I just think an old storefront property was turned into a restaurant, a bar was added as well as some artwork, so it's a cute place, but this still does not make it an upscale dining experience. Sorry.

....to die for. I want to move to New Iberia now just to eat. Ate in the lively bar on a Saturday night and there was a cool little band and many friendly Louisiana folks. This is why you get off the interstate. My dinner was as above so I couldn't say how everything else is but if you are anywhere in the neighborhood, give it a try. There are tablecloths on the tables but people there were dressed in everything from snappy casual to dressed up.A delight for fans of Louisiana cuisine.
