guntersville museum & cultural center

During my visit to Guntersville, I always enjoy visiting this museum with its great permanent and traveling exhibits. Always fun and interesting. Definitely a highlight of my visit!

This a great museum highlighting the history and the environment of the area. They have ever-changing exhibits ranging from the history of the Guntersville dam and the Civil War. They have an impressive collection of Native American arrowheads. Also a gem collection donated by a local who's travellers took him all over the county. Make sure you speak to the nice ladies that are there to answer any questions

My visit to the Guntersville Museum & Cultural Center was very educational and one of the highlights of our trip to the beautiful Lake City. I highly recommend the museum to locals as well as those traveling through the area. We thoroughly enjoyed the permanent exhibits, especially the one honoring those that have served in the military. There is so much to see - inside and out. We can't wait to visit again and see the new garden. A great place to spend a leisurely afternoon.

What a rare treat for a small town Museum! Beautiful building, great exhibits on local history, very nice art and scavenger hunts for kids. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Well worth the trip.

Two nice ladies greeted us on a Sunday afternoon we were the only ones there. Nice history of Alabama in the Slavery days and famous Alabamians from Around that area, War memoirbilia. Lots of things from years gone by. FREE ADMISSION, but please try to make a donation.
