The Reindeer Farm is South of Palmer, down the old Glenn Hwy. The fun part is you get to go out among the Reindeer and feed them by hand. You get a little lecture about them and their history, before you actually get to get in the field with them. It's fun time for all.

The reindeer farm is a must when you visit the greater Anchorage area. It's a unique experience to be in the pen feeding the reindeer. My husband and I loved it and our kids are always asking when we're going back.

We very much enjoyed our visit to this Reindeer Farm, we even learned that a Reindeer is actually a domesticated caribou. The lady that gave us our tour knew all the Reindeer and had names for most all of them and knew their different personalities. You could tell that she loves the animals and her job of teaching the visitors about them. This place is well worth the admission price and the time spent visiting this attraction

When we first got to the farm, we were allowed to wander a bit and feed the elk that were kept there. Then we were led over to see the bison and after, the reindeer. They take you into the reindeer pen and give you food to feed them and you can pet the reindeer. Our guide was great with answering all the questions and providing other information. There were several baby reindeer that were in the pen as well. A great experience for all ages!

Our children (ages 6 and 4) had a great time here at the Reindeer Farm. Your admission includes a cup of food for each person to feed the reindeer. Your tour begins with a guide telling you lots of facts about reindeer/caribou. They give you some rules for interacting with the reindeer, hand you a cup of food and let you get in the fenced area with the reindeer. It’s a really neat experience. Make sure to hold any little ones who might get scared because if they scream, it will spook the reindeer and they may kick. (Two years ago our then two year-old daughter screamed and the reindeer kicked our son – not hard though and only on his arm). The reindeer was just trying to protect her baby. Our son was brave and handled it well. In fact, he even asked to go back this year. So it’s definitely worth a visit. And the drive from Anchorage to the Matanuska valley is breathtaking.

Our visit was fun and interesting. You can get out into the reindeer area and feed them. The other animals you see are in a fenced area. You can feed them through the fence.

This Reindeer Farm in Palmer, Alaska is a unique opportunity to feed, pet, and walk among these gentle animals. They looked me in the eye and even seemed to want to pose for pictures. A cup of food is given to each visitor to feed to the reindeer so they follow you around wanting more. I walked in the center of a large group of reindeer with no fear as the gentle animals touched me and ate from my hands. Since I live within a couple of miles of this farm, I visit them every year. You are not allowed in the fence with the elks, however you can feed them grass through the fence. There used to be a moose around but I didn't wee him this summer. You can go horse back riding on the trails and several employees give plenty of helpful information. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity if you visit the Mat-Su Valley in Alaska.

Nice opportunity to get up close with reindeer. It's a kind of petting zoo. You walk between the animals and you can feed and pet them. The guides tell lots of interesting facts about the reindeer. There are also some elk at the farm. You can feed them but you can not get close to them.Price is 8 $, which is reasonable.

The tour of the farm lasts about 30-45 minutes which was perfect with a 4 year old. The guide was awesome and the reindeer were even cooler. If you are in the area with or without kids, this place is definitely worth your 45 minutes. It cost us 22 dollars, but I considered a donation to keep the farm alive.

We visited the reindeer farm with some family and had a great time. The staff was helpful and provided a lot of details about the animals. We got to feed the reindeer which was a blast. I would recommend a visit.

If you can get to visit this place do it. The tour guides are great and being in the pen and feeding these animals is so much fun. They are gentle and lovable, not scary at all. I can say enough how fantastic this experience was!!We even got to feed the elk though you don't get to go into the pen with them.

We loved our visit to the reindeer farm. What a unique and affordable attraction. The reindeer walk right up and feeding them is an incredible opportunity to do something out of the ordinary. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions perfectly. We also enjoyed seeing the elk and feeding them. We did not opt for the horse rides but the horses are beautiful. Must do in my opinion!

Stopped on our way from Denali to Anchorage. Perfect little detour. Fed reindeer from our hand in the pen. Super cool for the kids (9-12). Saw a 2 hr old baby elk. Fed elk too. Taught the kids how to catch & hold a chicken & baby rabbits. Pony rides or horse trail rides too. Cheap stop & takes as much time you want. One of the kids most favorites from the whole trip.

This is the best activity in Palmer! Super fun for kids and adults, you get to interact with the reindeer by petting and feeding them. I took my parents and my in-laws, everyone was smiling and laughing as they were approached by the reindeer for their treats.
