artisans open air market

Walking down "Main Street" of Talkeetna, you'll see a sign on a side street indicating an Open Air Market. Just a short couple-minute walk away, you'll come to a courtyard with tents housing the 10 or so booths of the open air market.All of the artisans are very friendly and locals. The booths ranged from socks and clothing items (not tourist T-shirts), lots of beautiful Alaskan photographs, hand-made pottery, and more.It will not take long to visit but is worth the stop- you may just find that 'perfect' Alaskan gift.

Some lovely photography, jewelry, clothing and personal care goodies in this market. The artisans are talkative and the wares truly unique.

We were able to hit this market before we left town on Saturday, and were very glad we stuck around for it to open! All of the venders were so friendly, and had such nice things for sale. Excellent opportunity to pick up items made by local artists!
