You can climb way up the glacier. It's a little bit of a walk to do so but it's fun. If you are driving to Valdez during the winter, stop in the see the huge amount of snow. They plowed the walkways and you could barely see over them. It has reseeded a lot since I was a kid the first time I saw it so see it while you still can.

We went on a rainy day, so we did not walk on the glacier. But you can get right to it on a nice day.

old travel guide says you can put your hand in it....it has retreated and you can not. Awesome view anyway. Worth the short ride off the road.

There is a small trail here that you can access the glacier and literally touch them!

I didnt think this was a great attraction. Its just ok. If you already seen and went close to glacier then this is nothing different or mind blowing. Yes stop on your way in or out of Valdez to see it. Dont drive specially for this.

It was so neat to be able to walk out on the Glacier. Knowing it was over 2000 years was beyond anything one could imagine. Just breath taking.

Short walk and there you have this glacier and a water fall. There's a special structure there: the glacier on one hand touching the rocks on the other hand and having the waterfall in between them.Great thing.

please stop at this glacier and prepare enough time to hiking to the top of the glacier. You can touch the glacier and go upper place.

this glacier is worth a stop if you are traveling on the richardson highway. There is a nice pull out and you can walk up to it.

Similar to the Columbia Icefields in Jasper Park (Alberta, Canada), this attraction is way less visited and more approachable. It was one of the highlights of my trip to Alaska, to be able to hike up and experience a glacier first hand. Memorable!

This is one of the most accessible glaciers in Alaska. It took about 30 minutes short hike to touch the glacier. We went in a sunny summer afternoon and both adults and kids enjoyed the visit. It costs nothing to visit the beautiful park as there is even no entrance fee.

This glacier is along the hwy. on the way down to Valdez, Alaska. It is a beautiful glacier right along the side of the road. You don't even have to get out of the car to see it. The state built a really nice park there for your access and enjoyment. Its very nice.

We all know there are tons of glaciers in Alaska, but most are rarely seen and even fewer are accessible at all. At the other end of the spectrum is Worthington, where you can almost drive right up to the ice after a very short driveway off the highway. OK, it's probably a half mile or so hike from the viewing platform, but it's really easy. Besides the ice, there are cool waterfalls, a rushing stream, a small galcial lake, and lots of carved rock left by the retreating ice. Excellent photo opps!
