The little available seating they have was not clean. The prices are expensive for what you get - a tiny cup of coffee for $2.00 and they give you a dirty look if you go up and ask for a second cup. The older blond woman (who I believe is one of the owners) was quite rude when my husband and I were ordering. I was not impressed and will never go back.
We always thought we had to go to Vermont for maple sugar. In searching the web we found Williams Farm right in Deerfield. We drove up to have a late breakfast and watch the sugaring. The blueberry pancakes were large and very good with lots of syrup available. Be sure and go in March as they don't serve food other than during sugaring. Best to call to check before you go.The folks who were sugaring were friendly and didn't mind our questions. It is a great day trip and you can go visit the Yankee Candle right down the street after.
I have been here since I was little and have do not have one complaint. The Sugar on Snow is a MUST! If you have never had it, try it you won't be sorry. You will leave with a sugar high, sticky finger and happy stomach. Only sad part is that it is not open year round!
If the bright white steamcoming out of Williams' Sugarhouse chimney doesn't lure you in, the intense maple aroma once you enter the sugarhouse's restaurant surely will. Speaking from experience, everything on their menu is excellent...make sure not to miss having a Belgian waffle and above all, give the "sugar on snow" with pickles a try...it is an unbelievably tasty combination. My whole family will be coming back in 2012, as we have for many years. The only warning: Williams is so popular, you may have to wait a bit for a table, but it's worth it!
