Don't expect anything special. Went to Monster Jam that should say it all. We were allowed to take soft coolers so we didn't have to spend money on any concessions. So I can't rate the food. Didn't personally use the bathroom facilities but I heard many people complaining that they were nasty. We had fun during the show. Departed is horrendous!!! There is NO TRAFFIC CONTROL AND NO TRAFFIC LIGHT!!! Either leave the show early or packed extra food and drinks and picnic at your car, it's going to be a while before you get to the main road, which remember there is no traffic light. I would estimate it was a good half hour before we decided to make our trek to the exit. I'd go again.
The Hagerstown Speedway is always exciting whether from racing or special events. Used to go every weekend but time does not permit that now but wish it did. Special events like the Bonanza are fun and not to be missed.
Took the kids here for monster jam. It's your basic speedway, nothing fancy. Employees were nice, parking lot could be better. We ended up driving up towards the road out only to find we were blocked in (son was exhausted so we left early), had to turn around and figure out how to get out on a packed day.
We went to the Flattrack Grand Nationals and really enjoyed our evening at the track even though it was very hot out. The announcer was hard to hear when the bikes were running. We got to go into the pits and meet riders and get signatures. We camped for free on the premises too (no facilities however). You are allowed to bring in coolers (no glass bottles/alcohol) and plastic or aluminum water bottles. There were food/drink options that weren't overpriced (not much for vegetarians/vegans so stock up if you go like I did). Bathrooms were very nice/clean until the women started being messy and just throwing stuff around for no reason.
price, seating and location, close to home and I know some of the people there, its a nice night out. I now take ear plugs along.
My family enjoyed coming from Eastern Shore of Md to see a race for the first time on your dirt track it was great. We love dirt racing and it was an awesome experience I was amazed on how you worked on the track after a rainstorm and was still able to race that night very nice!!!
Been going there since late 1970's. Wish admission prices were lower. When track is tacky, it's FAST!
Every year I attend the AMA Flat Track Motorcycle Races they hold once a year, and this is one of my favorite tracks to go to. You can see the whole track at a bunch of different locations, but I prefer the Stouffer Grandstands. They have good track food: hamburgers, funnel cakes, fries, and the BEST pizza. The track is a nice hard red clay, and when the motorcycles go around they usually leave a nice blue groove. I was also there fore the 2012 Outlaws Race, which was also great. See ya next year.
old fashioned speedway.. grandstand seating.. only cover fro sun/rain is under bleachers..food selection of burgers hot dogs pizza, fries..soda beer, vend stands mostly passed out cooked grill items as quickly as possible but lines were at times very long, nature of the beast?parking ranged from paved to grass to dirt and rock, only one way out.tough exit after event concluded
Very young children should not be taken there- which should go without saying, but it doesn't. Other children should wear ear gear made to keep the noise out. Unless a child really shows a liking for dirt track racing I think it's a better sport for adults, The track is as good as any I've been to and there is nothing to block your vision. Employees are friendly, the food is good and the bathrooms are acceptable. If you go early or late in the season, be prepared for the cold, cold seats. Bring a blanket to sit on or a stadium seat. Be prepared for noise, dust and jumping up and down in your seat. Its hard to sit still when it gets exciting.
Go try to hike the Appalacian Trail and get some peace and quiet while the racing is going on. The sound reverberates for over 7 miles. What a crap thing that gives nothing to anyone but a bunch of yeehaws to go watch flashy things with loud noises. Wooo hooo...ain't that fun.
Racing cars is just wasting precious oil. Why does the world waste something as critical as oil?
