This is one of the most beautiful parks I've ever seen...and I've been to a lot. Iron Ridge Trail is amazing and follows the breathtaking beauty of untouched Lake Allatoona. I like to take the trail 30 minutes in and 30 minutes out to enjoy the lake view the whole time. Also a great bike trail...flat all the way...

We live close by and go to Red Top quite often; for hiking, mountain biking, nature watching, and kayaking/swimming. Some of the areas can get quite crowded, but you can find areas that are quieter, if you know where to look. The ranger staff here is fantastic! If you ever get a chance, be sure to catch an Iron Pour--one-of-a-kind experience!!!

There are a lot of nice state park and lake access in Cartersville and Canton area. This is a great place and only 15mins from our home. We get a senior yearly parking pass for $25 and come and go all summer. No fee to enter just a car parking fee in some areas.

I like coming here, mainly for Lake Allatoona. The lake is great, a lot of area to take your boat around. The forestry part of the park is great as well.

This was always a favorite place of mine and my husband's to come. He would launch his jet ski and I would bring a folding chair and sit and read a book. The deer would come right up to you. That was my favorite part...but then the Dept. of Natural Resources decided that they needed to control the deer population and had hunters come in to shoot the deer. We even went to a town hall meeting, but our voices did not matter. It's been a while and my husband and I go back from time to time, but it's not the same for me. We do ride our boat on Lake Allatoona by here, and it is still very beautiful.

We went to Red Top Mountain State Park's largest enclosed pavilion for a Veterans Appreciation dinner put on by Georgia State Congressman Christian Coomer. The speaker was U.S. Congressman elect Barry Loudermilk. Catering was by Scott's Walk-Up BBQ.Very nice venue. Plenty of parking.Have also been there for Vietnam Veterans picnics at the open air pavilions.Every experience at the park has been great. There's plenty of fishing and water sports in Lake Allatoona. They've also got 18 cabins for rent.http://www.stateparks.com/red_top_mountain.html Plenty of hiking trails.Just east of Interstate 75 at exit 285.They have a trail just for wheelchairs and strollers.

This is a very nice park. Plenty of walks and bike areas also boat ramps and different marinas have recreation rentals. We love the camping and the amenities for campers. Military have the Naval MWR (not large RV friendly) area and what was once the Army recreation area was turned over to the State so now anyone can use the facility. The park offers various informational seminars and historical exhibits.

Red Top Mountain State Park is a clean park. The cabins are great to stay in with the split bedroom plan. My wife rented one for my birthday and it was a lot of fun. We have a boat that we keep in the marina there and have been there almost 20 years and just enjoy the drive into the marinia. The Marinia also has boat rentals. Would highly recommend the cabins and boat rental.

Filled with wildlife and natural beauty...great fishing and camping. Great place to visit any time of year, but it's most beautiful when the leaves are turning in the Fall.

I have been to Red Top many times, and I have always had a great time. Sometimes we go to just hang out and bar- b-que, swim, and you can also rent boats and just cruise around the lake. There is jet skis available or just move down here and bring your own toys. This place is great for all ages.

I was in the area for the weekend visiting friends and went looking for a place to walk and this was recommended. It's a very nice park with places to camp - tent and campers - along with picnic areas, playing fields, a nice lake, and lots of walking/hiking trails of all different levels. a $5 day pass to park was very reasonable. You can get in a nice hour long walk or find day long hikes.

An amazing place to explore or just go to sit on the lake. Has great hiking trails, man-made beach, boat docks, camping, and LOTS to see. Especially great this time of year as the leaves change, Check out their programs and special events throughout the year!

We hiked one of the trails, it was very pretty. The lake was very pretty. There is a $5 parking fee you can pay at the visitors center or self serve pay station. There is no longer a lodge, Google may tell you different.
