Fall always means a day trip to "Apple Hill" off Highway 50 in El Dorado County. Denver Dan's Apple Patch is just one of many commercial apple orchards which sell apples, fresh-baked apple pies, and frozen pies to the public. Although not as big as some of the other commercial sites located closer to Highway 50, Denver Dan's orchard is worth visiting because you can take a basket into the orchard and pick your own apples. Fun place for young kids! The counter staff are family friendly and there is a covered picnic area where you can relax and enjoy a slice of fresh-baked apple pie. Other pies are also available, including Boysenberry, blueberry, strawberry/rhubarb, and other assorted berry pies. Denver Dan's has a unique sweet cinnamon syrup sauce to coat slices of apple. Yummy! Rest room facilities are available by request. "Traveling the world one meal at a time..."

Denver Dan's was delicious. They have the best Apple Pie Sauce. I've had lots of apple pies, but the sauce is what made it for me. So Yummy!!!You've got to try it!
