Great park with swimming (in season), herons, hawks, children's play areas, floating walk way (wheel chair accessible), ample parking.........
Great wildlife and walk area. Fun area for the kids Great u-shaped dock for walking. I like seeing the different birds and activity at the park.
It has a nice sheltered wading area with beach for kids and toddlers. There is a U-shaped pier that makes for a nice walk out on Lake Washington. It was recently updated so the tree are small in some places. If you are coming on a hot sunny day you may want to pack a beach umbrella. There is a small concession stand for water, pop and ice cream during the summer. They also rent some water toys. A food truck will sometimes be on site selling BBQ.
The beach park is always a great area to hang out. It is a romantic spot for night walks, picnics, volley ball or even a quick dip in the cold water. The park is well maintained and safe.
This is a great place to walk around the pier and people watch - one of my favorite sports! Nice benches to sit - the beach area is clean and well-maintained.
Juanita Beach Park has been around forever! In fact, we used to go there way back when I was just a young child! However, recently they have updated the park and made it much more people friendly, and way more beautiful! Located on the shore of Lake Washington, you go there to just relax, have lunch, or even fish from the great boardwalk! As an added bonus, there are lots of great new shops within walking distance, as well as many new eateries! Very easy to spend an entire afternoon here!
Nice long walk all around. There is a farmers market in the afternoon in the parking lot. Free paddle boards to use or you can rent them.
A walk along the beach... old band-aid, discarded men's underwear, used tissues, off-leash dog defecating on swimming beach, ubiquitous litter. There were plenty of people who seemed not to mind. I guess (sadly) people are ok with the mess because it's free. I won't be bringing my child back for a swim. Go here only for the playground or a walk.
Right along the water with beautiful views. If you want to relax or stroll around this is the place to do it at. Very well kept area with beautiful foliage makes this a very tranquil area to read a book or take a nap...
Gorgeous Lake Washington offers plenty of scenic places to explore, and the historic Juanita Beach Park is one of them. Small, but feeling huge, it has a ton of free parking, bath house, paddle board rentals, beach volleyball courts, walking path through the woodsy part of the park, and a long boardwalk that is built out on the water, enclosing the huge swimming area. Walking that 2.5 times is a mile, so if you're into tracking your exercise, it's a great place to walk. It's beautifully maintained, has a large sandy beach area with a couple of life guard stations, kids play areas and a smattering of picnic tables throughout. There are a couple of signs along the boardwalk that tell of the history, and the original house that the first owners lived in is still across the street. They gifted it to the city to keep a place for folks to always enjoy and so that nobody could ruin it by building yet more damn houses! It's got plenty of space to have a big gathering, and also offers private places to be alone if that's what you want. It's all free, so check it out and enjoy a bit of nature at your leisure!
This place has a farmer's market every Friday, live music, fresh dinner and lots of people. We love to come here regardless, just to go through the pier, enjoy the beach and the park. It's scenic and the best part, it's free!
The sandy beach with very shallow water is great place to take young beach goers. My 4 and almost 3 year old grandsons thought they were kings of the water being able to go many feet out into the water and it never getting above their waist. The water is clear as can be. Having a lifeguard on duty was helpful and made the trip with the little ones more relaxing knowing there would be help if needed. If the weather allows it while you are in the Kirkland area, you have to spend a day at the beach.
Nice during off season - too crowded during the summer. My son and I like to walk out on the docks but during the summer too many people and not enjoyable.
The place is good for a board walk and is scenic .However , the sand is not really good and slightly muddy. It would be better if the shore area especially, where children swim, is filled with soft pebbles to make it most comfortable and attractive. Even pets need to be tied up and/or the owners must see to it that pets are well attended to ,so that they wont disturb other tourists. It would be even better, if PET DOGS are not allowed at all as is done in most of the tourist beaches. The lake water is Not crystal clear and even the area needs some place as a resting area. Hope fully, it will be improved.
Loved the beach with clean surroundings ...good walk around the lake. For kids, there is only swing and one slide... Would have been better if play area had more for kids... But love to be back when sun shines again!!!!
