Gougér Cellars Winery recently relocated from downtown Vancouver, WA to bucolic setting in Ridgefield. If you're a wine aficionado you're in for a real treat because winemaker (and chef) Gary Gougér is serving up wine that is as good as anything in Clark County, and that's saying something. But what makes a visit here special and the winery worth a visit as a destination is the interesting and delicious food available - and alpacas! That's right - the winery abuts one of the largest alpaca farms in the area and the rooftop observation deck makes a particularly nice place to sip your wine and take in the views of the strange and fuzzy beasts, not to mention views of distant Cascade peaks. The building itself is a bit on the industrial style but don't let that put you off. In addition to the wine, be sure to sample the wine-flavored home-made ice cream and the roasted garlic and baguettes.
