11th street cowboy bar

The 11th Street Cowboy Bar are the host of the Cowboy Mardi Gras every year in Bandera TX. The street in front of the bar is blocked off for a parade and for contestants in the Gumbo Cook-off. Everyone is in their best Mardi Gras attire and the street gets really crowded. There was a $20 cover charge to get into the actual venue but you could come and go all day and night. The smaller old original bar open to the street sllowed you to by beverages and use of the restroom without having the armband and they had a beer booth set up on the street as well. That poor bartender worked her tush off! People come from far and wide for this celebration. It is really a great time.

My wife and I were visiting a timeshare in the Bandera area. On our last night we discovered this fun and friendly bar. We were invited to sit with another couple who were from the area. They were friendly and we had a great conversation while we listened to the band between dances. The seating was fun and we could easily walk around the large outdoor covered area. The fans kept it at a comfortable temperature. Just beer and band the night we were there. However, on Wednesday night you bring your own steak to grill and buy the other fixings for a great meal. It is very popular with locals.

This quintessential Bandera Bar is most fun on Wednesday nights for Steak Night. Bring your own steak (or chop or chicken or anything) to grill. There are huge grills and dozens of seasonings, condiments, and grill tools for you to use. For $6, you can buy a plate with salad, baked potato, and a roll to go with it. Live music of course.

we learned of this little gem while attending the Hill Country Rally In Luckenbach. What a great little venue!!!! Crazy idea is that there are bra's hanging everywhere, give it to them and you get a free t-shirt. (I kept mine..LOL). No seriously a very spacious hangout that just seems to keep going. I would highly recommend if you are traveling in the beautiful Hill Country you stop and have a cold one.
