They are rude, the food cold and the show sub par. The owner does not keep her word and I would tell everyone to pick another place to spend their money because this place is NOT worth it.
Enjoy great food and wonderful entertainment in the beautiful Island Park, Idaho! We enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning!
Worth our money for an evening of dinner and entertainment! The new owners have listened to their guests and made great improvements since last year. We attended Klondike Kalamity, a melodrama, this year and were quite pleased with the show. The actors/actresses were hilarious. Crowd interaction and ad-lib were reminiscent of years past and truly made the show. Young children to adults were involved the entire evening. From throwing popcorn at the villain to cheering the hero we all had a great time. The meal was satisfactory and there was plenty for larger appetites. Choices tonight were pulled pork or barbecued chicken. Dinner was served with a salad, baked beans, baked potato, corn, outstanding rolls and a desert. Be sure to plan on visiting the snack bar during intermission. They really do have cinnamon rolls and cookies as big as your head. Beverages of water, tea and lemonade are included with dinner but not during the show.I look forward to coming back again next year.
Thanks for coming to the show. I' m so sorry that you didn't enjoy Cowpokes. It has been well received by our audiences this summer and especially these past few weeks! Some people love HeeHaw! We will keep trying to win you over and keep you awake! Kind regards,Lisa Carter208-558-7871
What a wonderful time we all had together. We have 2 teenagers and a college age who was home for a visit. I wanted to do something that I thought everyone would enjoy so I booked a cabin and we had dinner at the playhouse theater. Everyone had so much fun. The play was so entertaining and well done. The entire experience is something we will fondly remember for years to come.
We will keep trying to incorporate the things that make our little Playhouse unique and special. Live music, a hearty meal and family friendly entertainment. Hopefully you will come back and find something you like! Kind Regards,Lisa Carter
We've gone to the macks inn playhouse every year for the last 8 years and loved (now) 7 of the 8 shows. This year was markedly different than the others. The cast is small and limited and only half of it belongs in show biz. You have to give them credit for trying, the effort is certainly there but the talent is sadly lacking. I was very disappointed given that the mack's inn playhouse has always been a highlight of our annual yellowstone vacation. Hopefully the new management is able to pull it together and get it back to the caliber it was in years past but we will probably give it a few years before returning. It was an enjoyable enough night but certainly not worth $30 per person.
Talk about talent...these kids (from all over the US) are great! We saw 2 shows (they run 6 nights a week, alternating shows each night) and both were awesome. My favorite was "The Andrews Brothers!"
Show was a hoot! Very talented performers. Kids (5,9&14 yrs) loved it. Next time, we will probably eat elsewhere and just catch the show...no options for picky eaters and no dessert!
there is not a lot to do in West Yellowstone in the winter in the evenings. This was a fun respite from the hotel for the evening! The food was only average, but the show was funny and we enjoyed ourselves. Would do it again.
We enjoyed seeing a play that was held at this theater. The performance was very solid for an amateur production with the cast comprised of college students. The meal was terribly lacking in quality and quantity. If we were given the choice we would have passed on the meal and just watched the production.
Just returned from West Yellowstone and went to see Forever Plaid. Before the Play we ate dinner and it was very good. Had the Option of a Huckleberry Chicken or a Tri-tip Steak. I had a little bit of both and I enjoyed it. Try the chimichurri sauce on the tri-tip. The play was very fun. Kept up laughing. My son (10 y/o) came too and we watched him laugh long and hard. We were worried that the play might be over his head. We are planning to go again when we return to the area.
The play was full humor and energy. The players connected well with the crowd. Definitely worth going to. This was our second play.
We had dinner at the theater before seeing Forever Plaid. The meal was well-prepared, generous (except for no dessert), and tasty. The musical was very entertaining and funny. It requires very close harmonies, and on some of the songs, that didn't happen. In spite of that, we're glad we went!
We went to the Pinecone Playhouse on our way to the Park for Labor Day weekend. We had been to the other theatre in town in the past, so decided to give this one a try. We were SO entertained. So much talent in the people who put on the play! Three men who sang a song about wild women and WHISKey kept us laughing... not only from the lyrics but the delivery and especially the expressions on their faces. We thought that was the highlight of the night, although it was all enjoyable. The only thing we didn't care for was sitting on the front row... it was too close to the stage, which made you look up and get a kink in your neck.
