Neat log-cabin-y feel of a building that hosts the local Starbucks and doubles as our visitor center. There is a TV showing current events in the Valley, and even our local shelter puts out a binder of the adorable pups you can adopt here. Very vibrant and warm place to meet friends and feel welcome to our little mountain town community. Our free bus system stops right outside, and it is centrally located in town to walk to other shops. The bus schedule is displayed electronically to show you arrival times as well. For a small town - it's a great visitor center IMO!
Not only does the Visitor's Center offer information, a dedicated employee to answer questions, and a very nice atmosphere, there are really great toys for kids! Never thought I would see magnetic tiles in the toy box at a coffee shop. This is a great location to plan your trip, enjoy a coffee, and distract the kiddos.
Staff are friendly and knowledgable about the resort towns of Ketchum and Sun Valley, they provide plenty of written material for your information. Free wifi available in the building too.
We thoroughly enjoyed the speakers we heard during the festival - learning about the sheep ranching culture was interesting for us, as we're from Nebraska where cattle and corn are raised!
Great restrooms, art and coffee from Starbucks. The host? Dismissive to say the least. Had questions on unloading our bikes and where the trails where in town. We were handed a map and head toward the river.
We only had a day in Ketchum. Bill pointed us in the direction of the ore train museum and the Gondola both of which we really enjoyed
Not much to it - the Chamber of Commerce has simply set up a stand with brochures inside Starbucks. Some flat screen TV's do show off some nice photos of the area and offer a schedule of events.
Not only do they provide you with great information, the staff working the visitor center are very knowledgeable and friendly. They are there to help you!
Located in the middle of town, local free bus stops here also. Good information and free wifi.nice building, Starbucks here also, although I prefer 'java on fourth' or 'the coffee grinder'( the local coffee shops) instead of a big chain.
Mike Chase, super guy, gives you all the time and info needed. And located right inside Starbucks, so you can sip and chat.
A year or so ago a brilliant entrepreneur must have come up with the idea of relocating both the Sun Valley Info Center and the previously poorly located Starbucks to the same location! Not only that, the Starbucks now has amble parking, seating AND beer and wine! This is now a fantistic venue to gather, relax and plan your adventures.
The Ketchum/Sun Valley information centre in in the same building as the local Starbucks. Same entrance but go left for the centre. Not really that much more info than you will find at the front desk of most hotels/motels. Just a large rack of leaflets but the lady is very friendly and helpful.
What a fun and cool space. The inside architecture is so well done. I love the layout and the big long criss cross tables. We purchased some hot chocolate at the Starbucks inside the visitors center and hung out and just relaxed.
We like to play it by ear but when we arrived late in the day, we were having trouble finding a place that was handicapped friendly. Most of the lodging had no elevators or at best had several stairs which was difficult for my husband who uses a scooter and canes for shorter distances. The person we spoke to at the visitor center said she had never had a request for "handicapped accessible" but she would do some checking for us. She got on the phone and found a cute little motel just a few minutes from the downtown area. It was very reasonable, clean and just what we needed for the night.
We enjoyed the bus tour of the area from the Visitor's Center. The guide was informative and we got a good overview of the area.
