We woke up early and hiked to the top so we could catch the sunrise over the valley. It was cold, slippery but worth every bit of it. I now know what it is like to truly stand in awe.
Fantastic colors, formations, views and inspiration for paints, imagination, and word to paper. I was transposed back in time in pondering the magnitude of the beauty that surrounded us. I wish I were an able bodied person as I would have loved to have ventured further.
Especially in the fall color season - head up the La Sal mountain loop road from Moab and descend into Castle Valley. From high above the valley in the late afternoon you can see Arches, you can see the red rock and the trees. A stellar view.
I visited this road during December. Another beautiful drive and fabulous for photographs. Another of dramatically different Vistas all close to each other.
An unmarked turn off leads you you through the spectacular castle valley into the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Not to be missed vistas and gently returned to the.hamlet of Moab. Beautiful vistas of the valleys, unexpected lakes
We began by biking along the Colorado River on a wonderful paved path with towering cliffs above us. Since the bike path doesn't go all the way to Castle Valley we returned to our car and took the drive. If we had time we would have taken the loop that would have brought us back into Moab.
This made for an interesting side trip on our way to Moab. This is a beautiful valley with rock formations that you've probably seen in western movies. The area is secluded but has quite a few homes but no businesses or places to stop and eat.
Castle rock is certainly worth a look but that is about it for Castle Valley. If you are going to Fisher Towers or the La Sals anyway it is worth the trip.
There are only very few Valleys in the world showing such a nice little own world. It's really beautiful, would like to stay there some days longer!
What a beautiful place! Anyone who's ever seen a western has probably seen Castle Valley. The 13th annual Gourd Festival was a blast, lots of creative artwork, all of it using gourds as the medium. Friendly people, a silent auction, and beautiful weather....it couldn't have been more fun!
Great valley with red rock walls, ranches and mountain views. You could spend hours here taking pictures and painting all the different subjects as the light changes throughout the day.
We drove the LaSalle loop over to Castle Valley. A really nice drive.Castle Valley is beautiful and totally worth the drive.
The night sky is amazing, if you want to see the stars, this is one of the darkest skies in America. A great place to view our cosmic neighborhood!
Drive out highway 128 along the river. There's plenty of nature to dazzle you. You may also see a movie being made. It's a popular location for movies and commercials.
Lots of wildlife to see. Someone had seen a bear the day before our visit, but we were not that lucky, just Chipmunks and lots of deer. We were told that there was a Cougar in the area but no such luck for us.Worth the trip along the valley just for the scenery
