We love visiting the downtown library for the various children's programs and then venturing out to the courtyard on a beautiful day. Check the schedule of events online before going.

Parking here is centralized (around the corner from the Ryman) and cheap. The library is very nice too.

I'm so jealous that my hometown library is not the Nashville Public Library. My son loved playing with the puppets and I loved dreaming about working at this library.

This is a great place to park while visiting downtown on the Weekends. Parking is only $5, which is amazing compared to other lots.

The architecture of the Nashville public library is beautiful. You can sit and enjoy magazines, books, etc., use the computers or search for your next movie. It is worth the visit.

I simply walked in here to check out the library as a whole, and was pleasantly amazed at the beauty inside and out. The entire building itself was a joy to walk around in and marvel at all it had to offer.

The Nashville Public Library has many branches scattered around Davidson County that are being renovated in turn, so you should check the website if you plan to visit to ensure the branch you want to visit is open and not under construction. The main library, downtown Nashville is a haven from the hustle and bustle of the city that offers a wide selection of reading material and a quiet place to just unwind and relax. There is a section just for teenagers, another for children and adults and there are comfortable places for some solitude if that is what you desire. The staff is very friendly and the selection of books and music is extensive.

Great place to park inexpensively. Added bonus is the library is pretty amazing architecturally too.

A terrific library with a lot of diverse offerings, in terms of media, reading rooms and more. Impressive building, inside and out.

If you are in downtown Nashville, check out the public library. First off, the high ceilings, artwork on the walls and the architecture are all breathtaking. Go upstairs to the outdoor garden, a tranquil spot to read. And downstairs, be sure to visit the cafe. It has the best baked goods!

Impressive architecture and a beautiful building that is worth a visit if in the area. We actually found the library by using it's parking lot ( best deal in town) as it is centrally located. The lobby is beautiful and the various rooms are lovely.

This library is worth a visit. The building is beautiful. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and the work environment is lovely. There is a Provence connected to it for a midday coffee/bite.

This library is more than just books, so if you find yourself in Nashville spare a few minutes and visit the library. The outside architecture is impressive, and the inside is no less so. Besides walking through the book stacks and perusing their great collection of books, you can admire the murals present in the hallways on all three floors and while you're at it learn a bit about the history of the city. If you're visiting in a kinder season, you should also check out the courtyard.

The library is a lovely building and its' parking garage is a great central location for parking and walking to downtown sites.

If you visit downtown Nashville, stop in the library. The architecture, art, murals all all worth seeing. My only problem was the day that we were there was the number of "transients" in the restroom facilities. I know it is a public building, but still.
