What a beautiful vineyard !! Small but intimate. Found this little gem when we went to lunch at restaurant at Black Lake. The wines are made there and the owner is very nice. There was a wedding scheduled for the following day, I'm sure it was beautiful !! What a wonderful backdrop :-D

While visiting Ogdensburg, NY, a friend suggested we try the new vineyard on Route 6 near Black Lake and Hammond. When you pull into the long drive, you feel as though you are driving up to a barn; and indeed you are! This old barn was completely remodeled by one of the owners and looks amazing outside and in. When we arrived, a bridal shower was gathering on the outside deck, which overlooks the vineyard.A wheelchair accessible ramp leads up to the entrance located in the back. The inside is spacious and features an area where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine, beer or smoothies (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options). The other side features tastings of 6 wines for only $2. We opted for the tasting and was served by one of the owners, Carol Davis. She was extremely helpful. The wines we sampled were sweeter than most but were very smooth and luscious. We purchased the Frontenac and Concord.

Your trip to this winery will start off with a view of the very attractive, barn-style tasting room and vineyards. The inside is also very attractive and they offer many souvenir items for sale. We were offered a tasting of all 6 of their wines and 2 beers for $2. They were also offered for sale by the glass. The wines were all very good and leaned towards the sweet side. One disappointment was that they did not have any bottles of the wine I liked best for sale, as they had run out of labels for the bottle. As this is a newer winery, I am sure it is a growing pain they will correct.

This vineyard & winery are off the beaten path but so worth the drive. The setting and staff are wonderful for being so new. The wine is wonderful. It was sad not to be able to spend more time here on our vaca, because they were having music on the lawn with there small fire dept making food. Would have been such a fine time. There's always next year !!! :-)
