Had a great time with the family, even in winter there was plenty to do for 1-2 hours. The place was clean, well kept, and staff was very nice. Will definitely visit again if in the area.

The dinosaurs are big and look like they came out of "Jurassic Park." It is a cool place to visit, especially for the kids. But it is a little pricey, and there is not much to do there except walk the trail through the woods and look at the dinosaurs. You can see it all in an hour or less. I didn't think it was worth the price.

The front desk guys were very helpful and energetic. It was new years day so not a lot of people were there. If you are taking older kids this is not a stop you want to make but for 10ish and under it would be a great stop. The dinosaurs don't look as real as the brochure, but if you are a little person it is a great thing to see. You are able to dig in the sand for fossils and the movie is fun to watch too. We did not realize that the velosceraptor is actually small, not as big as Jurassic park movie shows.

We took a road trip to the smoky mountains and on our way home we decided to stop here as a break from the drive. Our boys loved the dinosaurs, mining, and digging for fossils. It was a bit of a tourist trap and you ended up paying a bit more then we thought. As an adult I was not impressed because they had dino's that were not really dinosaurs, the dino dig was a big sand box where he found little fossils and what looked like a declawed cat claw! In the end we went there for the kids (not for me) and the kids LOVED it! We needed a break from the car, and this was a nice break and fun for the boys. Be prepared to spend some money!

So you came to central Kentucky to visit the country's largest caves but your kids want something else to do. Why not Dinosaur Word! I'll tell you why not. I went with my 3 children in August and the first thing you do is walk through their huge store which has anything imaginable to buy about dinosaurs. I thought this was going to be more like a museum and less like a carnival. There are actually no dinosaur skeletons and not even plaster replicas. There was a dino "dig" we took part in but really it was like playing in the sand with common rocks and fossils you could find in any river bed. After that, we walked around looking at statues of dinosaurs, wooly mammoths, and other creatures that didn't exist in the dinosaur age. With the admission price I did not let my kids purchase anything from the store. Dinosaur World is a tourist trap and basically a big store that has statues of dinosaurs and a sand dig pit.

This road side attraction knows how to draw kids in and take their parents' money! lol My son had a blast seeing all the dinosaur sculptures placed throughout the wooded areas and even more fun 'digging' for fossils (and taking 3 home!). However, the price is steep per person (in my opinion) and the gift store is waaaay too hard to avoid. But I guess you got to make money somehow! I would recommend this as part of your visit to the area, but just be aware of the potential cost.

My husband and I were on a road trip when we saw the sign for Dinosaur World and decided to stop by and make a new memory. We didn't know what to expect, because we had no cell reception to Google the destination, but decided to check it out anyway. Dinosaur World is a hike through the woods looking at life-sized dinosaurs. The placement of the dinosaurs in the woods was great and every scene told a story. It brought out the kid in us and I'm so glad that we stopped. With, or without children you won't be disappointed touring Dinosaur World, if you like fun.However, the dinosaurs could use some more realistic paint schemes.

I'm not sure why but I had low expectations the first time we came to Dino World, but it's a classy, science-based and just plain fun place. My kids are a little older now and still love it, but one of the things that makes it stand apart from competitors is how great it is even for preschoolers. Definitely something a whole family can enjoy. All the activities, like the gem hunt, exceeded my expectations, with far more and far larger gems than I expected. Clean, comfortable, and manageable for families. And the guy running the fossil dig was knowledgeable! This, obviously, isn't the Smithsonian, but for what it is, a relatively inexpensive roadside attraction it definitely exceeds expectations.

My little girl loved it. They have a lot to see. The dinosaurs made life like. We walked the trails over 18 acres. They could give more information when you buy the extra package, for gem mining and fossil dig. I didn't know until we were at the end of the fossil dig that the children didn't get to keep all they had dug up. The attendant waited until after the children had a container full, then said "pick only three, that's all you can take." The gift shop is so over priced, it's also were you pay so.no way to not have your child beg and cry for over priced toys.

Aside from the slight judgment from the staff work bringing our own plastic dinosaur (Dennis), this place is a gem. They have a really informative video about the lifetime of a dinosaur. They have many life size dinosaurs and mammoths that despite signs saying otherwise, you should climb! Fun for everyone!

This family run attraction is well worth your while. The family has researched the dinosaur species and constructed life size replicas, each displayed with its facts. There is also a playground and a "fossil pit" for the kids to unearth their own fossils. Good time with good people.

My wife and I have driven past this place for over 20 years and we finally sopped in. It was a blast. It was $13.00 a piece and just had fun, getting pictures next to the life sized dinosaurs. Great museum and gift shop which we purchased a memory from

Having been to the rundown Dinosaur Land in Virginia, we were not too sure going into this place. Especially when we walked in and saw the prices. BUT, what a great place! It is well-kept, clean, and the staff is great. The dinosaurs are in great shape, and the place also has a small museum, cave theater, mining sleuth, playground, and fossil sift. The fossil sift was included with the general exhibit admission. The kids loved that part, as they got to sift around a big trough of sand with sifters. The older man who seems like he runs the place was very friendly & knowledgeable. Obviously he is doing what he loves & it shows in his business as he interacts with the kids. The souvenir shop has some interesting toys & stuff too. Admission includes a wrist band which allows you to come back later that day as many times as you want.

If you like dinosaurs, it's worth the visit. They really are life-sized, and posed in great setups with multiple dinosaurs per exhibit. They are plaster and do not move, but if you are at all interested in dinosaurs or have kids that are, it's the place to go. A few extra things for the kids to do as well, at a small cost.

We stopped at Dinosaur World during a day-long stay in Cave City, as part of a very long cross-country trip involving three children under the age of 10. This could have been a roadside vegetable stand and the kids would have been excited merely because they were out of the car. *LOL* I tell you this because it *may* have colored our perception of the place. First, I had read the Trip Advisor reviews and knew what I was getting into. If you are an eight-year-old dinosaur freak, you will love this place. If you are anyone else, you'll think it's cheese-y. That being said, the park is overall very well maintained and the walkways are clean and easy to navigate. You enter through the enormous gift shop (which is par for the course at most attractions anymore) to begin your adventure. The dinosaur trail itself is well shaded, which was a lifesaver on the 95-degree day we visited. We happened to be there on a Friday in late August, so we quite literally had the trail all to ourselves. The dinosaurs are scattered throughout the trail and have informational plaques in front of them, much like a zoo. It's not exactly Jurassic Park as far as thrills or scientific information, but it's fun to walk with the kids and see what's around every corner. **BRING WATER when you are on the trail! There is no food for sale and only a couple of soda/water vending machines near the entrance. Once you're out there, there's nothing. Even though it's shaded, in the summer it is still hot and muggy.**At the front of the park is the dinosaur theater - I highly recommend you sit and watch the show. The day we were there, the BBC's Walking With Dinosaurs (The Ballad of Big Al) was the movie being shown. It was really good and everyone in our party was enthralled. The dinosaur museum is just okay - it was a nice break for us to get out of the heat, but certainly not the highlight of the day. The kids did the fossil dig and had a ball. As part of the admission price, kids get to dig through a giant sand table to find actual dinosaur bone fragments, shark teeth, and various plant fossils (coral, anemone, etc.). The girl working the dig was very knowledgeable and friendly. She sat with my 7-year-old Aspie and helped in group all of his treasures on a table, all the while explaining what each one was. Each kiddo gets to choose three things to put into a baggie and take home as a souvenir. My kids and my parents had a great time and for the price of admission (get discount coupons online!), I'd say it was money well spent.
