This is my first time riding an ATV and its an amazing feeling as we go through the ways which look like you are going into a deep jungle. There are mud puddles, mud streams, tree trunks in our way and every time we go over them the jeep jumps and it gives you a feeling that as if you are driving a bullock cart LOL....The guide leads you. But be very careful when riding on the streams as some times the jeep gets stuck in the mud.I loved these ATV's and definitely recommend to everyone. We rented Single person ATV's and we were 5 ppl group and enjoyed a lot on this tour.
We purchased Steve's 4 hour ride on the Hatfield & McCoy Trail...he provided everything for us. They have good equipment and know the trail well. Be prepared for a rough ride and some gorgeous scenery; what a blast! I'll be doing this again.
FIRST time ATV'ing and needed to entertain two 18 year olds- the Hatfiled McCoy Trail is 500 miles, so there are many cities to choose from, we choose this Company out of Pineville due to a package deal that included safety gear helmets, goggles, lunch(just a sandwich and H2O) , Co. took a bunch of photos and a video we can download of the day. Due to medical condition I asked to take a long greak and cool off at swimming hole, VERY accomodating and a GREAT trip. The ATV's were fully automatic-NO experience was necessary, and took is slow(good for us girls, and the guys just delt with it!!). I would reccomend to take bug spray, sunscreen and wear yuckuy tennis shoes due to some mud on the shoes/clothes. We ate at the Whistle Stop which was a greasy spoon in Pineville at the bottom of Pinnacle Trail where we met the Tour Guides Stephen and Steve. the machines looked very new. good tires, ran GREAT, no problems and the guides ran in front and back of our group and they only, had mikes to speak with each other.
