A nice place to browse and just look around, especially for pottery. I like the different kinds of "art" and skilled crafts there.

The Carolina Artists' Colony has a wide variety of beautiful handmade arts and crafts at competitive prices. It's a destination spot, to be sure, and one that will keep me coming back again and again.

I stopped here while I was exploring Sanford. I had intended to just look around (like a gallery) but ended up buying some pottery. The pottery is outstanding but there's lots more. It's definitely worth a stop--even if you don't buy anything.

Artists from all around central Carolina have a good chance of being displayed in this tidy older shop, a lot bigger than it looks from the street. Prices are mostly set by agreement between the artist and the shop? What the market will bear, I suppose. Our interest is mainly pottery, and it is very hard not to buy an armload every time we visit. Gorgeous stuff, practical and beautiful.If you haven't visited, please consider dropping in on them. You won't be disappointed.

Carolina Artists' Colony provides a great overview of the types of artistic endeavor going on in the community along with easy contacts for more information, tours, etc of the actual work sites.

This is a great little Art Gallery on "Moore Street in Sanford, NC, everything is created by NC Artists and there is plenty to choose from! Some of my favorite artist include Sandy Cole, Chris Dalton, Caren Stewart, Kim Godon and others. Sandy who manages the place is a delight.

The Carolina Artist's Colony in Sanford is wonderful! It is such fun to spend time here. There are so many wonderful artists ideas. The pottery is terrific -- probably some of the best being made in Carolina! Then I got lost in the hand loomed scarves - I have been lucky enough to be able to watch an artist create these items and was just fascinated. You can always buy the perfect piece of jewelry here at the Colony -- why buy jewelry that comes in bulk -- why not buy artist created jewelry that is one of a kind. Every turn brings something new to get absorbed in - great photography, paintings, all sorts of crafts. In addition, the Carolina Artist's Colony has great happenings like classes to teach you how to paint a beach scene or a Monet scene! Check out their schedule! I found the drive from Raleigh was well worth the trip!

Fantastic place to buy unique items and gifts! I made sure to get some things for myself too. Couldn't resist! The owner was very helpful and friendly.

When I need to buy a gift, this is the first place I go. Big variety of items and prices for every budget. Pottery, specialty soaps, jewelry, accessories, food, paintings, tiles with local pictures on them. I can't begin to remember everything. Last gift was a lovely necklace for my artistic niece in Seattle. She loved it!

The Carolina Artists' Colony is a gallery of works from North Carolina artists. The talent represented in pottery, sculpture, paintings, drawings, photography, textile art, and jewelry is amazing. They have art for all tastes, from realistic to contemporary works. Why would anyone buy reproductions or imported items when you can have such wonderful originals at reasonable prices? Definitely worth a visit to downtown Sanford, NC!

There is so much to see in a compact corner of Sanford. I typically get a cup of coffee down the street and walk in to a barrage of different art forms. You can pretty much name the art form and you'll find it here! There is even food created and jarred with a personal twist. The staff is informed, knowledgeable and very helpful with insight of the individual pieces and their artist; many of whom are local to NC. Although I've found myself purchasing several pieces of Art, pottery and food, I've enjoyed many more trips through the Carolina Artists' Colony's rooms enjoying the views and talking with artist, patrons and staff about items that caught my eye. It's a unique, interesting spot with an interesting find every time I've visited.
