This was our first visit to the Temple Theater since we recently moved to the area. The show was "I'll Never Be Hungry Again", a musical spoof of "Gone With the Wind." The show was hilarious, actors were top-notch and we'll definitely put their future shows on our calendar.

This is a relatively small theater that was showing Sanders Family Christmas. You can go next door at the intermission and purchase drinks and locally baked good, chips, candy, etc ..... The theater is very clean and the show was very well done. It is about a 35-40 minute drive from the Cary/Morrisville area. The shows on Saturday night usually start at 8:00 and I would recommend dining at The Steele Pig beforehand. It is a very good restaurant that serves southern style food and is only about a one block walk from the theater.

I am 79 and have been a supporter of Little Theatre in Gastonia, N.C., Gaffney SC and Temple Theatre in Sanford. I just saw the Production of OKLAHOMA. I HAVE BEEN TO 7 OTHER THEATRES, AND I CAN SAY WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT THIS WAS THE BEST PRODUCTION THAT I HAVE SEEN .This is PRICED RESONABLE A great Christmas show, The Saunders Homecoming Christmas is the highlight of the season.

The temple is a historic theater in downtown Sanford and has been restored to its glory days. They produce wonderful plays and have stand up comedians. I would recommend the temple to anyone that wants to see a good play, they bring in the majority of its talent from New York.

We've visited Sanford, NC twice now, and both times have gone to see shows at the Temple Theatre there. Sanford is a small town, but this theatre puts on great shows with professionals from around the country. Earlier this year we saw Smoke on the Mountain with a cast of amazing musicians. This time we went to see a kids' show. What a gem this theatre is! If you're in Sanford, or traveling through, take in a show at the Temple!

I have been to a few shows here and I have always been impressed. If you are looking for something fun to do in Sanford you have to check out Temple Theater! Every show I have ever been to has been outstanding, and I love getting to meet the actors after the show ends. If you love live theater you will definetly enjoy yourself, and if you don't you should still check them out!

We have been season ticket holders since we moved to Sanford 15 years ago. While some shows are better than others, there has never been a year we have been sorry we had tickets. Their season runs September to May with 6 to 8 shows a year. It is amazing what this talented group does with a small stage and a limited budget. They have staged British farces, musicals with large and small casts, comedies, dramas and one person shows. The talent is top notch and the staging very imaginative. The ticket prices are more than reasonable, the seating is comfortable and no seat provides a bad view. We have never had a problem finding parking within a short walk to the theater. They recently expanded their restroom facilities and even have a small concession area at intermission. I highly recommend a night at the Temple Theatre to anyone that enjoys good theater.

Temple Theater is the Crown Jewel of Sanford. This is a small theater in a small town with Big, Fantastic shows.

North Carolina has a gem in the small town of Sanford North Carolina. The Temple Theater is a old downtown theater that has been remodeled and offers First Class Entertainment. On Mothers Day we attended the musical "Cats". The cast was awesome and the music was fantastic.

This is NOT your usual small town "Little Theater". This a full-blown, professional theatre (note the spelling) with productions that easily match what I have seen in London, New York or Washington. The quality of singing, dancing, staging, sound and lighting and overall ambiance will overwhelm you on your first visit. My wife and I were given free tickets to "Music Man" when we moved into our new home and came home from the show to immediately write a check for season tickets. Peggy Taphorn, the Producing Artistic Director, brings a wealth of background to her job, as a professional singer/dancer, as well as experience in producing and directing. I don't know how the Temple Theatre manages to keep a person of her talent...must be that she just loves Sanford. If you have any chance to see a show here, don't miss the opportunity!

My husband and I have been going to Temple Theatre for about 20 years and getting season tickets almost that long. The productions are first rate and the theatre is a true gem. The current Director, Peggy Taphorn, strives to get a variety of shows for the regular play season and for other shows, such as the Comedy Tuesdays. The acoustics are excellent and there are some wireless headsets available. There really aren't any bad seats in the house. There is main floor and balcony seating. The performers for the shows come from all over the country. Some from NY, some touring, and with local artists filling in where needed. The theatre underwent some improvements last year by breaking through a wall into the next building to provide a lovely and spacious concession area and rest rooms. You can have a glass of wine or soft drink during intermission. When we plan to go to a show, I let my neighborhood know and often there are 15 or more of us going together. Many want to see "Cats" (Apr 24 - May 11) which will be the last show of the Main Stage Season. Come visit once and you'll be hooked.

Enjoyed a wonderful program and evening of music performed by the "Sweet Potato Band". Two hours of great music by a great group.

A visit to Temple Theater make you glad this place has been preserved, both for the architectural elements and for the great shows produced there. We saw "Black Pearl Sings," featuring Roslyn Sorrell and Lynda Clark--two very talented women. It was both enlightening and entertaining.

Beautiful theater, excellent production. People were friendly, plenty of comfortable seating. We would travel to Sanford again (3 hour drive) just to see a production at this theater.

This past weekend I got the pleasure of taking my out of town guests to see a show at Temple Theatre, and the show Singin' Cowboys was a great way to spend our Saturday evening. Truthfully, I am not a fan of country music, so was somewhat hesitant, but decided to go because I had heard of Jason Petty's talent. With his talented group, including Carolyn Martin, Jason weaved an entertaining story of the songs from America's West and even learned some fun things about John Wayne. I totally recommend this production, and if you can't see it at our city's beautiful theatre, I know this show is still on tour in 2013.
