Dressel Farms isn't far from the heart of New Paltz. We went for apple picking but discovered they had more to offer - including free hay rides around the orchard, a corn maze, a farm stand with great cider and fresh donuts (amongst pre-picked apples and produce) and even a tasting room for local hard apple ciders, wines, and spirits. The staff were friendly and well-versed on apple varieties and where to find the trees on the property. If you are looking for a certain variety, keep your eye on the website because some of the better eating varieties ripen early in the season. PS the price for pick your own was 1.30 per pound, very reasonable!!
Excellent apple orchard. Many varieties of apples--all delicious. Very nice, helpful people. Reasonable prices. They also had their own hard-cider, available for tasting and purchase.
Dont forget to ask about their Kettleborough cider, which is a lovely farmhouse style. Oh, and good veggies and apples too.
Every year I go pick strawberries from the patches at Dressel farms, which are typically located down Route 208 from the main farm stand. These berries are super sweet and easy to pick, and when you buy them per pound, super cheap. Easy to freeze to have handy throughout the summer. The farm itself can get crowded during the busy apple/pumpkin season, but still a pleasant atmosphere.
It seems more geared to people with children, which is fine but it's very crowded. And they don't allow dogs so we only stayed a short time because we didn't want to keep them in the car too long.
Loved the apples, pears, and fresh nectarines at their farmstand... and taking photos with the Apple's was memorable!
great cherries and strawberries and blueberries in June; apple picking in the Fall; ice cream stand; other vegetables for sale, cider also; nice festivals in the Fall which includes wine tasting.
STOP @ this Roadside fruit stand & bring home plenty of Fresh Fruit & Vegetables all seasonal nice Quality Produce
In the Winter, go to the shed in the back and but the honey crisps!!!
The best apple picking in the Hudson Valley, also very good apple cider dounuts.
We went here with three kids, and they loved it...as did the adults! We picked apples and pumpkins, the kids went on a tractor tour of the farm, and we ended our visit with hot apple cider and fresh donuts that are to die for! Great place for photo ops!
Pick your own apples, take a hay ride or wander the corn maze. Eat a doughnut and drink some cider or even indulge with an ice cream and see the fantastic view across the Wallkill Valley to Shawangunk Ridge. I live around the corner and I stop at Dressel's several times a week for veggies and fruit ... and those addictive doughnuts. It is a true family farm and the staff are always friendly and helpful
